TVI-PDVD-COP - Kobenhavn (Copenhagen) The City for Everyone (PAL)Copenhagen, Denmark's capital, was declared European Culture Capital in 1996. And it is far from being reserved or sober. On the contrary, it is festive and full of joy of life, especially after dusk. Kobenhaven, originally Kobmaendenes Havn, means "The Port of the Traders". And the city does not bear this name by chance. The romantic part of the city is concentrated mainly in Nyhaven, the so-called new port and this is further amplified by the fact that the location is closely linked with the name of Hans Christian Andersen, the author of the world's most popular fairytales. The bronze statue of the unfortunate Little Mermaid has today become the symbol of Copenhagen.
