Next to the Olympic Stadium, the Biodome, in which exotic animals from many corners of the world roam among waterfalls and tropical forests. Next to the gleaming skyscrapers of the inner city, there are museums, churches and art galleries and, in the old quarter, there are more historic buildings than in any other North American city, not forgetting the parks and the romantic harbour. Its collection of remarkable historic treasures and superb art collection make it one of the world's most famous museums. with Leonardo Da Vinci´s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, taking pride of place. Situated on a small island on the River Seine is the Cathedral Of Notre Dame, the 'Mother Church Of The Nation'. Built on the foundations of a Roman temple and commissioned by the bishops Maurice and Eudes De Sully, it took almost 200 years to build this Gothic masterpiece. Built at the end of the 19th century as a symbol of national revival, Montmartre's Sacre Coeur has the appearance of a white, fairy-tale palace with 237 steps that lead up to the main entrance of this extraordinary structure. Its Byzantine architecture and five cupolas are reminiscent of the Marcus Dome in Venice. Of course, there are the dizzy heights of the Eiffel Tower and a great deal more. Paris is a wonderful festival of the senses!

Indeed, the castle's large moat provides more space for these wonderful creatures than they would have in any zoo. A little mini-vacation to NE Arizona, on the Navajo/Hopi reservation. The trip started at the invitation of Navajo people near Chinle, then blossomed from there. Visits included Canyon de Chelly, Four Corners, Monument Valley, Navajo Nat'l Monument, my family in Cottonwood, and points in between. We travelled 1,100 miles in six days. Not a time to rush around in this country.
