VPG-DVD-128 - PORTO Situated in the north of Portugal, Porto is a cultural capital of Europe and birthplace of the nation. The Torre Dos Clerigos is the symbol of the city and was built in the middle of the 18th century on a rock at the city's most elevated point. Two hundred and twenty five steps lead to a stunning view across the picturesque old harbour town and its carpet of red rooftops that nestle against the city's hills. Porto has one of the most beautiful markets in Europe that contains a large inner courtyard completely encircled by arcades. The narrow, deep river valley of the Douro is spanned by five bridges of which the most impressive is the Ponte Dom Louis. The Frenchman, Gustave Eiffel, constructed the gigantic two level bridge that connects Porto with its sister town, Vila Nova De Gaia. Five bridges connect the banks of the River Douro and two of them are monuments that date back to the Industrial Revolution. The river has always been the city's lifeline and a trading route to the whole world. The entire river valley was designated as a vine growing area because it is where the world famous port wine is grown. With all of its picturesque districts including its Baroque splendour and the palatial houses of its elite, Porto has well and truly survived the march of time.

GTR-DVD-1117 - Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and is the city from which the country derived its name. At its centre is the Praca Da Liberdade a large square that is guarded by a statue of King Dom Pedro the Fourth. The Torre Dos Clerigos is the symbol of Porto and in the middle of the 18th century was built on a rock at the city's highest point. Of particular interest is the remarkable external wall toward the east that is decorated with a huge example of the Portuguese art form known as 'azuelejos'. The tidal and deep-cut river valley of the Douro is spanned by four bridges of which the most impressive is the iron-built, Ponte Dom Louis. TOM-DVD-THREE - Bangkok Bound Bangkok Bound Volume 3In programme three we meet an exotic photographer, a street wise nun and a war veteran. Adrian is returning to the more notorious scene of this exotic destination. A thirty-three year old 'glamour' photographer, his mission is to persuade Thai women to model for him naked, to feed the growing British porn market for 'Asian babes'. "I like girls, that is the prime motivation. I can't imagine anything else I'd rather do - not even playing in a rock band or starring in a movie."Sister Joan works in conjunction with Father Brenan's orphanage. She wanders around the seedy areas of Pattya counseling street children and tries to talk them out of leading such dangerous lives. "The sheer number of sex tourists make this a dangerous place for children, even during the day."Fifty-seven year old Shirley's first ever trip to Thailand is an emotional pilgrimage. She lost her father in the Second World War when she was six months old. He died in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. Having recently been left money by her father's sister, Shirley has decided to spend the money fulfilling a dream she thought she would never be able to afford. The film crew follows Shirley to the cemetery, where her father's remains are. "I miss a father, you think of things that would have been very different if he'd been around."Thailand is a magnet for travellers. Each week 10,000 people travel from Britain to Bangkok - the gateway to Thailand. The country's beautiful tropical beaches are contrasted with a dark underbelly of sex tourism. This six part series Bangkok Bound, takes a closer look at the personal stories behind these journeys to reveal some startling and at times truly remarkable experiences.
